Current and Future Exhibitions and Events:

  • In the Tower Gallery, of which I'm one of the cooperative members, I will be having a solo show of my work from 9th May until 7th July 2018. 
  • My work is also currently being exhibited at The Tiny Gallery in Hart Street, Henley on Thames and also in Norwich and Cromer at The Gallery Norfolk

Recent and Previous Exhibitions:

  •  I have just finished showing my work at the Oriel Cric Gallery in a 'Printmakers' exhibition.
  • I also took part in the Open Studios during the May Bank Holiday weekend 2017. There were a lot of attendees who enjoyed the garden and exhibition as well as the studio talks.
  • I had my solo show at the Tower Gallery 26th October to the 3rd December 2016 entitled 'Usk Valley Impressions'. 
  • I continue to exhibit at our co-operative gallery in Crickhowell. Every six weeks we change the display of work with a new solo exhibitor taking up the two front rooms. I always have a quantity of unframed prints available to see, as well as framed recent work and cards for sale.
  • I ran a workshop at The Printshed in Madley, Herefordshire on the 21/22 nd of May 2016.
  • I had an exhibition on the 28th May 2016 in The Gallery Norfolk, 60 St Giles, Norfolk.  on the theme of folklore.
  • On the 26th October 2016 I had a 'solo' exhibition at the Tower Gallery in Crickhowell for six weeks.
  • THE BIG BIG DRAW! took place on Tuesday 27th October 2015 and I was working with Morag Colquhoun at Arts Alive Wales Crickhowell.  The theme was 'every picture tells a story'. We had a group of young and enthusiastic people and had a great day.

  • I held an exhibition of my work at The Tower Gallery in Crickhowell.It ran from Wednesday 10th June until Saturday 18th July 2015. I'm pleased to say that we had lots of interest in my work and a significant number of works were sold!
    The Tower Gallery is open each week 10am to 5pm Wednesday to Saturday.

  • I exhibited work at the 11th Annual Glasbury Visual Arts  Exhibition at the end of October 2014. This was held in Glasbury Village Hall. The exhibition was a delight to be part of!
  • I did a series of 4 workshops at Richard Booth's Bookshop in Hay-on-Wye in November and December 2014. There were 12 people on each workshop. All were extremely successful and oversubscribed. I will be doing more this coming year, so keep an eye out for the dates if you are interested!

  • On Wednesday 12th November 2014 I gave a talk an enthusiastic group of the Brynmawr Arts and Crafts Society in the LRC, Market Place, Brynmawr about my work and techniques.

  • I took part in the Crickhowell Open Studios at the end of May 2014. As I have said in the 'News' page, this event went very well with over 150 visitors over the three days.
  • Entitled 'The Christmas Exhibition', I exhibited in The Assembly House , Theatre Street, Norwich NR2 1RQ from the 7th November 2013 until the 7th January 2014. For details see their website: 
  • I have exhibited in the past at The Fry Gallery in Saffron Walden and I was asked to participate again in 2013. This was their Annual Exhibition and Sale by invited artists and it took place in The Fry Gallery, Castle Street, Saffron Walden, CB10 1BD on the 9th and 10th November 2013.
  •  I exhibited for the first time at 'Art at Treberfydd', which is a lovely house next to Llangorse Lake. The exhibition ran from the 12-26th July 2013. In such a great setting for me everything went very well and I sold a good amount of work.  Here's a link to the website:

  • My work work was also shown at an exhibition at  Lower Cwm Farm ,Llanveynoe, Longtown HR20LLThis was part of 'Treasures of the Black Mountains Festival', and took place on the  13th and 14th of July 2013. Again here is a link:

  • The exhibition at Cabalva Farm in Whitney-on-Wye, just north of Hay-on-Wye, is now over. The exhibition, which ran from the 8-16th September 2012, was staged in the lovely Georgian Manor overlooking the River Wye. Link to the website: 
  • The collaboration with my father and sisters at the Horsebridge Gallery in Whitstable entitled 'Off The Wall' which ran from the 7th July to the 31st August 2012 has now finished.


  • Crickhowell and Area Art trail of Open Studios and Galleries took place 2-5th June 2012. A significant number of people of all ages came to my exhibition at Ty Canol. A more detailed write up with photographs are on my 'News' page. Link to the organising website:


  • The Acorn Music Trust event in the Old Fire Station Exhibition Centre, Henley on Thames on Friday 24th to 28th February 2012 was a resounding success on many levels and in particular there was a very healthy demand for my prints, especially 'Tree of Life.' 


  • I exhibited 10-15th June 2011at the Aldeburgh Festival this year in 'A Collectors Exhibition' at the Aldeburgh Gallery .
  • In May, June and July 2011 I exhibited at three venues in the Brecon Beacons area. They were the Haymakers Gallery in Hay-on-Wye, the Five Ways gallery in Partrishow and the Usk Gallery in Crickhowell.
  • As part of the Crickhowell and area Art Trail and Open Studios over the bank holiday at the end of May I exhibited at Llanbedr Church and The Gallery on the Usk. 
  • At the beginning of October 2010 I gave a talk and showed some of my work at The Henley Literary Festival in Oxfordshire. I concentrated on describing my technique and how I applied it to my work. The talk was well attended and I felt that it was well received. Plenty of questions were asked at the end so that was a good measure of the interest generated! 
  • In June 2010 I exhibited at Frank and Christine Taylor's  'Fircroft Summer Exhibition'. This was a truly wonderful event and there was a stunning variety of work on show, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, print, textiles and glass. All work was displayed in their lovely home or, where appropriate, in the beautifully landscaped garden. The exhibition ran from the 12th June to the 27th June. I was very pleased with the positive reaction people had with my new work and this was reflected in sales of over 35 pieces of my artwork, a terrrific result!

  •  I gave a talk at Bourne End Library on Tuesday 30th March 2010 entitled 'Crocodiles and Lady Detectives'. I used my first ever 'PowerPoint Presentation' to deliver the talk, - (you may know that I'm not particularly a computer lover!) - which was very well received.



  • I exhibited at a very successful event  in Wivenhoe on the 5th and 6th December 2009. My pictures were in the 'Crockers Joinery' in 27 West Street (Telephone 01206 825194), marked '5' on the map. It was part of the 'Wivenhoe Christmas Presence' event which is held each year in December.


  • I exhibited at the Wooburn Visual Arts Exhibition in Buckinghamshire (3 - 10th October 2009) and at the Fry Gallery in Saffron Walden  on the 7th and 8th November 2009. I was delighted to be part of both these events.



  • "During the Bucks Open Studios fortnight, Hannah Firmin, well known for her book covers for ‘The No1 Ladies’ Detective Agency’ series by Alexander McCall Smith, exhibited her woodcuts and other prints and artwork. Her exhibition was held in the unique Stewart Linford Chairmaker Factory and Showroom in High Wycombe from the 13th to the 28th June 2009."
  • Was held at the Peacock Gallery on the Maiden Erlegh Campus, Silverdale Road, Earley, Reading RG6 7HS at the end of March till the beginning of April 2009. During the exhibition I also did a workshop with A Level Students at the Maiden Erlegh School.


  • Held in the Horsebridge Arts and Community Centre in Whitstable, Kent in April 2008. This was a joint venture with my father, Peter Firmin.
