Future Exhibitions:

At the end of September and the beginning of October I will be giving a talk and showing some of my work at The Henley Literary Festival in Oxfordshire. The festival runs from the 29th September to the 3rd of October.

Recent Exhibitions:

In June 2010 I exhibited at Frank and Christine Taylor's  'Fircroft Summer Exhibition'. This was a truly wonderful event and there was a stunning variety of work on show, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, print, textiles and glass. All work was displayed in their lovely home or, where appropriate, in the beautifully landscaped garden. The exhibition ran from the 12th June to the 27th June. I was very pleased with the positive reaction people had with my new work and this was reflected in sales of over 35 pieces of my artwork, a terrrific result!

I gave a talk at Bourne End Library on Tuesday 30th March 2010 entitled 'Crocodiles and Lady Detectives'. I used my first ever 'PowerPoint Presentation' to deliver the talk, - (you may know that I'm not particularly a computer lover!) - which was very well received.

I exhibited at a very successful event  in Wivenhoe on the 5th and 6th December 2009. My pictures were in the 'Crockers Joinery' in 27 West Street (Telephone 01206 825194), marked '5' on the map. It was part of the 'Wivenhoe Christmas Presence' event which is held each year in December.

I exhibited at the Wooburn Visual Arts Exhibition in Buckinghamshire (3 - 10th October 2009) and at the Fry Gallery in Saffron Walden www.fryartgallery.org  on the 7th and 8th November 2009. I was delighted to be part of both these events.

OUT OF THE WOODS'

"During the Bucks Open Studios fortnight, Hannah Firmin, well known for her book covers for ‘The No1 Ladies’ Detective Agency’ series by Alexander McCall Smith, exhibited her woodcuts and other prints and artwork. Her exhibition was held in the unique Stewart Linford Chairmaker Factory and Showroom in High Wycombe from the 13th to the 28th June 2009."

Impressions

Was held at the Peacock Gallery on the Maiden Erlegh Campus, Silverdale Road, Earley, Reading RG6 7HS at the end of March till the beginning of April 2009. During the exhibition I also did a workshop with A Level Students at the Maiden Erlegh School.

Held in the Horsebridge Arts and Community Centre in Whitstable, Kent in April 2008. This was a joint venture with my father, Peter Firmin.
